This instruction show you guide on how to use Lonsdor K518 and Lonsdor L-JCD cable to program key for Dodge Journey 2018-.

Function

1.Add key: program and add one key.

2.Delete key: delete the programmed keys.

3.Read PIN code: read car’s PIN code.

Operation

Program process:

Add key or all key lost: read PIN code-> add key.

Delete key: read PIN code-> delete key.

Tips:

1.4-Bit of PIN is required when adding/deleting keys.

2.Click blue texts to view more operation process.

3.Enable to program smart key of Journey(2018-), you need to use a Lonsdor L-JCD patch cord to connect K518 with car before program.

Add smart key

1.Turn ignition off, turn on the HAZARD lights.

2.Input 4-bit PIN code.

3.In 30s put the smart key(to be programmed) close to car start button, and press the unlock button once.

4.Program completed.

Delete smart key

1.This function will delete all the registered keys.

2.Input 4-bit PIN code.

3.Configuring… deleting completed.

Read PIN code

1.Start to read PIN code.

2.Trying yo read PIN…

3.PIN reading completed.

*Please note: this device supports [program smart key] for Journey(2018-), you need to use a L-JCD patch chord to connect K518 with car OBD before program.

1.Find the wiring position at the bottom left under steering wheel.

2.Connect a L-JCD patch chord in the wiring position as shown below.

3.Then use the L-JCD patch chord to connect car OBD with K518’s OBD port.

Attention

Delete key: this function will delete all the registered keys.

How to do Volvo DiCE Configuration in VIDA software

To test VOLVO DiCE communication with VIDA follow this procedure:

1.Connect the DiCE unit by USB cable to your computer.

2.Start VIDA.

3.Open the Connected Vehicles tab.

4.Select the DiCE to be tested in the drop-down menu.

The DiCE Configuration button appears.

5.Click DiCE Configuration.

6.Click Test Communication Tool to start the test of the USB connection.

7.Select the communications to be tested by ticking the check boxes. By default, if no check boxes are ticked, the first eight elements are tested.

8.Click Run to start the test.

OK should be displayed to the right for every row.

9.Click Close in the Test communication tool window.

Do not close the Test/Remove DiCE window.

10.Remove the USB cable from the DiCE unit.

The DiCE will now communicate via Bluetooth.

11.If you are using a computer with a built-in Bluetooth receiver, this receiver has to be disabled in order for the Bluetooth adapter to connect properly to your computer.

12.Press [WIN] + [R] on your keyboard.

The Device Manager opens.

13.Type devmgmt.msc and press [ENTER] .

At this point, a User Account Control pop-up window might open. In that case, click Yes.

14.Double click Bluetooth Radios.

15.Right click all devices listed under Bluetooth Radios and select Disable.

The built-in Bluetooth receiver(s) are disabled.

16.Connect the Bluetooth adapter to a free USB port on the computer.

17.In VIDA, click Test Communication Tool to start testing the Bluetooth connection.

18.Select which the communications to be tested by ticking the check boxes. By default, if no check boxes are ticked, the first eight elements are tested.

19.Click Run to start the test.

OK should be displayed to the right of every row.

20.Click Close in the Test communication tool window.

21.Click Close in the DiCE Configuration window.

Close the DiCE Configuration window by clicking Close.

The DiCE unit is now configured for both USB and Bluetooth connection at the VIDA client. If DiCE is connected with a USB cable, the communication will always go through the cable.

This is my first Toyota and the first time I ever really went into any of the vehicle settings through the OBD2 port. It was a frustrating experience to say the least. Getting the Mini VCI J2534 cable and the Techstream software v13.30.18 to work on my system was a challenge. First off I’m running Windows 10 thus 64 bit OS has compatibility issues with the MVCI cable despite having Windows 10 recognize the devices. I had to surf the net for several step-by-step guides

(https://youtu.be/1dusP2EWe9I) to get it to work. When the video was 1 year ago using V13.00.022 software I had my doubts but ultimately it worked.

Online guides mention you need to use the drivers from the CD that came with the cable. Ok so my laptop doesn’t have CD drive, great…. I dug up an old laptop. Tried to get it to boot and work and when I finally did, I found out the CD was literally a blank CD (at least I can use it to write data into). Then came the issue with Techstream and all the different versions available. Some are free, others say it’s free, some come with bonus trojan’s yet others require the activation code which you can get by joining a forum for $20. Scam… Anyway, I got my VCI cable from chinaobd2.com which can be easily crack without activation code. Finally installed v13.30.18 for the n’th time after finally configuring it to work with Windows 10 and bam woohoo! I was so happy until I realize I couldn’t get into any of the customization settings. No idea why. Internet says it’s the software so back to square one. Install v14 but ultimately I couldn’t even get it to load. So I reinstalled v13.30.18 and for whatever reason, the missing customization buttons suddenly appeared. It works! I hope I never have to format my computer ever to try to get this to work again. What a PITA.

With Techtream Mini VCI J2534 cable running Techstream software v13.30.18, All I wanted to change was the loudness of the turn signal.. a couple hours of work for a not very significant volume difference. Oh well. See attachments for all the configuration settings available as well as its default for a 2019 Canadian RAV4 Hybrid Limited.

Procedure:
1. First use the <1 OBD Read Config Info> option to get the vehicle configuration information;
2. Reinstall the meter and write the vehicle configuration information with the <3 OBD Write Config Info> option;
3. Finally use the <4 OBD Read Mileage> and <5 OBD Write Mileage> options to read and write the kilometers.
4. Modifying the kilometers again is only required to operate in <4 OBD Read Mileage> or <5 OBD Write Mileage> steps!!!

Note:
<1 OBD Read Config Info> and <2 OBD Write Config Info> communication takes 15-30 minutes, Please make sure the vehicle battery is sufficient! Before operating <2 MCU Data Programming>, Please confirm whether the meter is 8-drive or 11-drive.

Step 1: OBD Read Configuration Information;
If Odometer Correction is supported, here are the tips: Make sure the vehicle battery is sufficient.
If Odometer Correction is not supported, here are the tips: For cars before 15 years, you need to add a filter, and then you can operate steps 4(OBD read kilometers) and steps 5(OBD write kilometers); cars after 17 years do not support Odometer Correction temporarily.

An example: Benz 205 chassis instrument for 16 years calibration process

Step 1: OBD Read Configuration Information
Configuration data must be saved after successful reading!

Step 2: MCU Data Programming
At this time, you need to remove the back cover of the dashboard, select the type, and select the wiring method according to the type. You can open the wiring diagram directly,there are 5 wires in total(as the picture). The meter is divided into 8-drive and 11 drive.Please confirm whether the meter is 8-drive or 11-drive.

After connecting the wires according to the wiring diagram, perform the operation. If the MCU data is edited successfully, the wiring can be removed.

Step 3: OBD Write Configuration Information
The configuration information is the data read in the first step, and you can select the saved data at this time;
Then you can get the prompt that the vehicle configuration information is written successfully

Step 4: Adjust the mileage
Use the <4 OBD Read Mileage> and <5 OBD Write Mileage> options to read and write the kilometers.
For example, we wrote the mileage of 12345; then read it out is 12345km.

Look at the dashboard again, the kilometers are correct! The steps are complete!

Need advice: I plan to put a Windows 7 32 bit system on a partition and run an older version of Xentry that will auto-switch to DAS and HHT when I work on the older cars.

Please tell me which version of Xentry will run on a Windows 7 32 bit system and will give me automatic switching to HHT when I need it.

The adavice:

None of the XDOS/OpenShell versions include HHT. The last release to include HHT was not XDOS/OpenShell, but was Star Diagnosis 12/2015 which would only install on Windows XP Professional.

You can get the HHT files and install them on any x86 OS and XDOS can open HHT if the HHT files come with an installer that places the correct files in place to link HHT to XDOS.

The latest HHT-WIN version: 12.2019

The ability is:

HHT-WIN should be able to read all Modules.

Having said that, for Model Years 1990 – 12/1993, the Roadster Soft Top Module has 30 possible fault codes associated with it.
Whereas for Model Years 1/1994 – 1996, the Roadster Soft Top Module has only 11 possible fault codes associated with it.

The installation:

HHTWIN directly install on Windows 7 32 bit:

Disable UAC settings to “Never notify” -> Restart system if needed. It`s better to DISABLE idiotic Windows Defender too. Then, you could return UAC settings back.

First simply run HHT.exe, it will install HHT to C:\HHT, then start Xentry.OpenShell.XDOS.HHT.C4.exe/Xentry.OpenShell.XDOS.HHT.C3.exe … that`s all.
Some systems must be restarted at the end.

The problem with “–” version was fixed.
Delete C:\HHT directory and begin from the first step.
If you will update your Xentry.OpenShell.XDOS version … just apply the patch once again.

The good to use HTT-WIN:

1: so far the SD Connect C4 & HHT has been informative. erased RST codes, top works, going through other functions found some neat ones. Turn on/off headlights, taillights, turn the electric fans onto each of the 4 speeds etc.

2: On my new 2015 GMC Denali pickup, from the dash menu I can change between F and C for outside temp and coolant temp and transmission temp, and between MPH and KPH on the spedo, and between PSI and BAR on the oil pressure. I think I can also change the tire pressure readout between PSI and either BAR or KPascals. And I can even change the shape and location of the various gauges. Spedo and tach stay in the same place, but can change shape and display for oil pressure, transmission temp, voltmeter, coolant temp.

3: I changed F to C with HHTwin. I also activated the rollbar. Kind of underwhelming.

4: HHT-WIN successfully read the RST (RV) Module for my 1995 SL500.

This instruction share by Lonsdor K518 tech team,it focus on how to get system log from Lonsdor K518 device.

Procedures:

Hold those two buttons marked in red at the same time.

Then you will enter the interface below,click “System Information” once and you will enter the interface as shown below.

Click the area marked in red for five to eight times in one second continuously and quickly. And then click the area marked in green once.

You will enter the interface below once again.

Hold K518 return key of the device for several seconds.

You will enter the interface as shown below. Click “Get System Log” once and then click “SD Card Scan” once.

After that, connect the device to a computer and you will find a file called “System Log”.
